CROSS INTRODUCTION
Pipe cross is a type of pipe fitting which is T-shaped having two outlets, at 90° to the connection to the main line. It is a short piece of pipe with a lateral outlet. Pipe Tee is used to connect pipelines with a pipe at a right angle with the line. Pipe Tees are widely used as pipe fittings. They are made of various materials and available in various sizes and finishes. Pipe tees are extensively used in pipeline networks to transport two-phase fluid mixtures.
CROSS TYPE
- There are straight pipe tees which have the same size openings.
- Reducing pipe tees have one opening of different size and two openings of the same size.

FAQ
1.What is ASME B16.9?
ASME B16.9 is a standard developed by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) covering factory-made forged butt weld fittings. It provides dimensions, tolerances and material specifications for various types of butt weld fittings.
2.What is A105?
A105 is a specification for carbon steel forgings used in pressure vessel components. It covers forged carbon steel piping components for environmental and high temperature service in pressure systems.
3. What is A234WPB?
A234WPB is a specification for carbon and alloy steel pipe fittings used at medium and high temperatures. These fittings are manufactured using seamless or welded construction methods and are typically used in piping systems.
4. What is a butt welded equal diameter cross?
Butt weld equal diameter cross is a pipe fitting used to provide branch connections in piping systems. It has four openings of equal size, one entrance and three exits arranged in a cross shape. It allows fluids to flow in different directions and is often used in intersecting pipes.
5. What is the structural material of ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB carbon steel butt welded equal diameter cross?
ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB carbon steel butt welding equal diameter cross is made of carbon steel material, specifically the forgings are A105 and the pipe fittings are A234WPB. These materials are known for their strength, durability, and corrosion resistance.
6. What sizes are available for ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB carbon steel butt weld equal diameter crosses?
ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB Carbon Steel Butt Weld Equal Diameter Crosses are available in a variety of sizes from small to large diameters. Specific dimensions depend on the requirements of the piping system and can be customized accordingly.
7. What is the pressure rating of ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB carbon steel butt welded equal diameter cross?
ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB Pressure ratings for carbon steel butt weld equal diameter crosses vary based on size, material and temperature conditions. These pressure ratings are specified in the ASME B16.9 standard and should be followed to ensure safe and reliable operation.
8. Can ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB carbon steel butt weld equal diameter cross be used in both high and low temperature applications?
Yes, ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB carbon steel butt weld equal diameter crosses are available for both high and low temperature applications. However, it is important to select the appropriate materials and ensure that design temperature and pressure requirements are met.
9. Is ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB carbon steel butt welded equal diameter cross suitable for corrosive environments?
ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB carbon steel butt welded equal diameter cross can be used in mildly corrosive environments. However, for highly corrosive environments, it is recommended to use corrosion-resistant materials or apply additional protective coatings to increase the service life of the accessories.
10. Are ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB carbon steel butt welded equal diameter crosses widely used?
Yes, ASME B16.9 A105 A234WPB Carbon Steel Butt Weld Contour Cross is widely available through authorized manufacturers, suppliers and distributors. It is important to purchase them from reputable sources to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
